A Visit from Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche

My neighbor from Bhutan is here in Crestone. As a result, we’ve had a whirlwind morning preparing chai and offering rice to host our young dignitary with his entourage. His Holiness is on his first ever tour outside of Bhutan, and the excitement is palpable, with old students of his predecessor, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, having waited 20 years for this moment of his return.

His visit did not last more than 15 minutes.  He offered several polite words of thanks and appreciation, blessed the shrine room at Vajra Vidya, and then bade us farewell.  Not much happened, but the glow he left behind was unmistakable.  Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all leave people feeling so uplifted?
